Le soleil est belle
I've had the most beautiful afternoon. The most perfectly lazy morning. And I have a beautiful night to come. Why is it some days I can feel so lonely and some days I can feel just so satisfied with everything. I've never felt lonely in my life until last fall. But it passed. And it came back and hit me smack dab in the chest this past week(I never want to feel lonely. I never want anyone to feel lonely. It's a really right to the bone feeling)...I think I've been looking for people that don't exist. Is that strange?
But today. Today has caught me by surprise. It looked like such a down day whenI opened my eyes this morning. There wasn't even a ray of sunshine to be seen , three o'clock hit and sun came. Holy smokes, it's gorgeous. I had a delcious lunch and watched cartoons with my sister. Yanked my window open and grabbed a book, snuggled on my bed, with three kitties around me and read. And read. And now I'm taking a break to suck on a Popsicle and smile like crazy because I've got the spirited away soundtrack playing for me.
How can something that isn't really tangible just wake you up? How can music and sunshine feel this nice? Science might explain it. It doesn't matter though. I think I feel a good summer of art making ahead of me. I'm not sure though. We'll have to wait and see.

Soaking up some "rays"
Finally some good ol' sunshine has come back to Nova Scotia. Leaves are coming out, critters everywhere. THANK HEAVENS! Finally! Three nights ago I bought a beautiful new pet from work, a Marimo Moss ball, (it's actually algae). His name is, Sterling. And today he sat outside with me for a bit, getting a little sunshine. He can live safely in a jar, and only requires a half water change once a week and liquid fertilizer once in a while. If I understand correctly he is good for fish tanks, Marimo's absorb the various "gunk" from their surroundings. You can squeez them like a sponge to release the fluid, and until they've filled more they'll float in the tank. They can have babies too. I suggest you googles this interesting algae. PS. I think he's super cute, and I know it's just a plant but still... :)

Sterling in his pickle jar, he smells like pickles now,

This is his nice rock/gravel pickle home that I made for him....
I decided I really need to frame the art and cards and postcards and fabric and paper andetc.. that I love/own. I really want a wall full of mismatched frames holding them all. So this is my VERY slow start. I haven't even started to hang them yet, but soon, very soon.
I better go, I'm wasp hunter for now. I let a few in the house by mistake earlier, I've managed to get two rescued and out. Fingers crossed for the next few...

This really is some kind of wonderful,
Above image is in reference to the Iceland Airwaves Festival I discovered on my google hunt for "scandinavian art", I have no idea who this particular piece of work is by, but I really like it. And it goes well with my new and favourite music discovery, Impactist. You can download all of their music for free from their site. It's beautiful and I find...really, REALLY inspiring! This is, Observatory (Portastudio Sketch)
Please go and listen to it. Really, you should listen to all of it. IT IS AMAZING!
This song for me is definitely a "here, have a good day" musical gesture.

I (heart) colour!
In other words, I'm slowly becoming obsessed with arranging things by colour. There's something really satisfying about colour grouped appropriately. Really, there is. It makes me feel good. I'm also a huge organization freak, so this could all be connected to my extreme weirdness. But, nevertheless...try it. You'll be surprised.

Is Ace short for... Ace-a-rooney?
I've been neglecting you dear blog! With no good reason. School is out. I've been trying to make video tutorials of various easy/satisfying crafts that you can do from home...but it just hasn't worked out. I need a camera-man/woman for it to truly function. So allow me to share my final screen printing assignment! So, I printed 5 (good ones) shirts with owls! Now, I'm only showing you here three of the five shirts because two of them have already been given away - and are hopefully being joyously worn! :)
